MDR monitors activity across protected accounts, applications and devices to identify behaviour that may indicate a security threat.
Not every alert means there has been a cyber attack. Alerts are reviewed by human analysts through a Security Operations Centre (SOC) to determine whether suspicious activity represents a genuine threat.
When a threat is confirmed, incident response measures are taken to contain it and reduce the potential impact. Depending on the incident, this may include measures such as isolating an affected device or restricting access to a compromised account.
MDR forms one part of Sereno's wider approach to managed security. It is combined with preventative controls and ongoing security management, giving you a more joined-up way to reduce risk and deal with threats when they arise.
